Supporting The Community & Charity Donations
Severn Valley Alpacas supports the community by offering university and college work placements, school work experience opportunities, and individual placements for the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme. We provide a diverse learning environment covering animal welfare and husbandry, land management such as fencing and water supply projects, mechanical engineering, and opportunities to work with and serve the public.
We’re currently in discussions to partner with Kidderminster College in 2026, aiming to offer long-term placements for supported interns through the National Supported Internship Programme.
Over the last 6 years, Severn Valley Alpacas has provided work experience and placements for the University of Surrey, West Midlands Safari Park, Kidderminster College, as well as numerous individuals and local schools.
Charity Donations:
We support many local community groups and charities by donating Farm Education Visits, Alpaca Wellbeing Experiences, and Family Alpaca Trek gift vouchers, which these organizations often use as raffle prizes to raise funds. In 2022, we reached out to the The Stray Cat Rescue Team West Midlands to see if they had two cats who could take on the role of Chief Pest Control Officers.

About SCRT - Stray Cat Rescue Team

Rosemary and Thyme are now full-time members of the Pest Control Team of Severn Valley Alpacas,

and as a thank you for the joy they bring to us and our visitors—as well as for the amazing work SCRT does—we support the team throughout the year by donating multiple gift packs for raffles and other fundraising efforts.

In the summer of 2025, we held a “Name the Baby Alpacas” event when the new alpaca cria's were born, including Baby Mango,

He sadly lost an eye to infection at just two weeks old. This event helped raise funds, with all proceeds going directly to SCRT. Now, one-eyed Mango has a special friend in one-eyed Rosemary, and they’re often found together around the alpaca enclosures—they’re great pals!
